Marco Kong obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in 2021. Afterwards, he worked as a technician at start-up companies Cristal Therapeutics and Trained Therapeutix Discovery developing analytical methods for the characterisation of various nanomedicine. After a few years in industry he went back to academia to pursue a master’s degree in medicinal chemistry at Radboud University. Here he focused on developing (bio)chemical tools to better understand glycosyltransferases using computational, peptide and carbohydrate chemistry under the supervision of Dr. T. J. Boltje.
In August 2025, Marco obtained his master’s degree and subsequently joined the Big Chemistry consortium as junior researcher to aid the development of discovering innovative material properties in small peptides under supervision of Dr. M.F.J. Mabesoone and E. Spruijt.
