Kalpit Bakal joins the lab as a post-doc. Kalpit will use his mechanical engineering background to work on automation of mechanical analysis of our materials, in collaboration with Paul Kouwer. Good luck, Kalpit!

Andrei Voinea joined the group to work on his PhD. Andrei will work on using AI to automated scientific reasoning for peptide materials.
The Mabesoone lab is selected as one of five finalists for the 2024 Dream Chemistry Award! Mathijs will present the dream of the group, data-driven evolution of peptide-based materials, during the final on 2-3 December in Warsaw.
Mathijs presented the first preliminary results and our mission and vision on peptide-based assemblies at NWO’s Chemistry of Materials Community Day. We can look back at great discussions and feedback!
Justin Houx joined the Mabesoone lab as first PhD student. Justin will be working on establishing experimental and computational workflows for high-throughput analysis and data-driven design of peptide amphiphile materials. Good luck, Justin!
